Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagos state governor, has promised to build a state of the art cinema complex in Badagry within the next 18 months.
The governor said this when he visited the town on Wednesday for the fourth day of Nigeria’s biggest crossover celebration, One Lagos Fiesta.
Ambode said the construction of the complex would create employment opportunities for Badagry youth, while also boosting the tourism potential of the region, which is already popular for tourist sites such as Slave Museum, The Agia Tree, Whispering Palms and Nigeria’s first story building.
The governor further encouraged young entrepreneurs in the state to take full advantage of the Employment Trust Fund (ETF) made available by his administration as well as to seek constant opportunities for education and self-enlightenment.
Residents of historical Lagos town have started looking forward to exponential growth and development the cinema would bring to the area’s entertainment sector.

Badagry people does not need a state-of-the-art cinema, they need a coconut oil mill
so that their people can be gainfully employed and empowered. I expect this administration to be more concerned about the living standard of Lagosians.
Is it not a well fed man that will go to the cinemas….lol…

What concerns Lagos state government with Ogun state, every state has its own plan.
