Josephine, the mother to Rotimi Martins, an ace singer better known as Alariwo of Africa, has passed away.
The musician cum broadcaster broke the sad news to his numerous fans in an Instagram post tagged ‘My beloved mum left without saying goodbye’ on Thursday.
Martins revealed that his younger brother had called him via WhatsApp connect call involving his other siblings to announce their mother’s demise.
“I was home watching a movie when my younger brother called via WhatsApp. When I opened my phone, I noticed that it was a connect call with all my siblings involved,” he wrote.
“Before picking, my instinct told me that something was wrong. Hello!!! Tears from the other side and boom, my brother broke the sad news”
Alariwo said the news left him shattered for a while but he had to brace up.
The singer also recounted fond memories of his late mum, adding that life would not be the same again following her demise.
“Things will not be the same without you. Everything has become so blank. I will miss you in every moment as your memories will always occupy my mind,” he added.
“Why you left me so early, is just surprising but who am I to question our creator.. Death took you away you too very early.
“Without you, every single second will become very tough to spend. You took care of us and gave us the attention a mother would give to her children.”
Alariwo also shared series of his mother’s photos on Friday in another Instagram post tagged “many faces of my late mum”.
The development comes less than two years after Albert Martins, his father, reportedly breathed his last.
