Aisha Mohammed Buba Mashio, the Nigerian artist, has dismissed online rumours claiming she planned to wed Mai Mala Buni, the Yobe state governor.
In a now-deleted post, an X user claimed he had gotten wind of the proposed wedding on Facebook and also wished both of them a “happy married life”.
“I saw on Facebook that my Gov Mai Mala Buni is getting married to the talented young painter @Sumayyah_mashio,” he wrote.
“I wish them a happy married life. Please take care of this young lady, Your Excellency, sir. One of the biggest projects of his second tenure. Allah bada zaman lafiya.”
Reacting in a post via her X page on Friday, Aisha shared a picture of the supposed wedding invitation while labeling it as “fake news”.
The Yobe state-born painter also asked the public to “disregard” the news, adding that she was not “getting married”.
“Disregard any fake news, I AM NOT GETTING MARRIED!!!” the artist wrote.
