David Adeleke, Nigerian Afropop singer better known as Davido, has for the second time tested negative for the coronavirus.

The award-winning singer took to his social media page on Wednesday to reveal his status — days after Chioma Avril, his fiancee, was diagnosed with the novel disease.

“I did a second test for the covid19 virus again …. once again I’m Negative,” he wrote on Twitter.

TheCable Lifestyle had earlier reported how Chioma had tested positive for the novel disease while the singer’s result was negative alongside their baby.

Following the development, Davido had gone into self-isolation as expected of those who have been exposed to people infected with the virus.

While revealing his status, the ‘Assurance’ singer noted that his wife-to-be remains in a stable condition when asked by a fan about her condition.

“She hasn’t shown any symptoms till now .. she is perfectly fine,” he wrote.

Nigeria presently has 174 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 with two deaths recorded while nine of those infected have recovered and had been discharged.

The federal government had announced several directives aimed at containing the spread of the pandemic, including a nationwide closure of schools as well as restriction of large social and religious gatherings.
