Adesuwa Onyenokwe, publisher and broadcaster, says her interest in journalism was ignited by a Coca Cola advertisement.
The veteran journalist and host of television show, Seriously Speaking revealed this on Thursday at “The Academic Summit”, an event organised by the department of mass communications, University of Lagos.
Onyenokwe noted that she was enthralled by the fact that a message could be effectively conveyed through a one- minute video.
Speaking on the convergence of creativity and innovation in a content driven media age, Onyenokwe said she had subjected herself to change as things are not the same as they were when she ventured into journalism.
The society has become a digital world and it is expected of journalists to evolve with time, she counselled the participating students.
Other panelists who were at the summit include Bolanle Olukanni of Ebony Live TV, Jadesola Osiberu of Ndani TV, Idiare Atimomo of Up in the Sky and Sukanmi Owolawi of Syncrause Digital.
Students were also enjoined to sharpen their skills, be innovative, unique and make an impact in the world with their ideas.
