Adele, Grammy-winning singer, and Skepta, a British rapper of Nigerian descent, are said to be dating following the breakdown of her marriage with Simon Konecki, her husband.
According to UK SUN, the music superstars, who are both from Tottenham, have been on number of dates since she left her husband in April.
“Adele and Skepta have been there for each other a lot after both their relationships split up. They have a close bond and there’s definitely a special connection,” a source told the news outlet.
“They’re spending more and more time together. Some of their friends are hoping and predicting they could end up being a great couple one day.”
The award-winning songwriter was also on hand to celebrate Skepta’s 37th birthday at the Crystal Maze experience in London on September 19.
While Adele shares a 7-month-old son with Simon, Skepta — whose real name is Joseph Junior Adenuga Jr – became a father in November.
“They are both private about their love lives and they are both committed to their children first and foremost as well,” the source added.
In the past years, Adele and Skepta have spoken about each other in high esteem either to the media or on social media.
In 2016, the UK grime rapper told ES Magazine that “Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check. She speaks to me about how things are going.”
The same year, Adele shared a picture of Mercury Prize winner Skepta and wrote “Tottenham Boy” alongside a heart emoji.
In his retweet, Skepta wrote “love you” coupled with an emoji of a red rose.
Speaking about the moment, months later with IBTimes UK, Skepta said “she gassed me up. One day I was just chilling and she [tweeted] a picture that said ‘Tottenham boy’ and she’s from Tottenham as well.”
“I was actually going to quit music that day, that was one of the sickest things ever. She’s like the lady of Tottenham,” he added.
In May, Skepta teamed up Wizkid, Afrobeat star, on a song in ‘Ignorance is Bliss,’ his 13-track album.
The British rapper had also appeared alongside Drake on Wizkid’s remix for ‘Ojuelegba’. Skepta would later feature the Afrobeat star in his single ‘Energy’ in 2018.
