‘I’m in pains’ — Adeherself speaks on ordeal with EFCC

Adedamola ‘Adeherself’ Adewale, a social media comedienne, says she never imagined she would undergo her recent experience with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in life.

The 20-year-old social media influencer was arrested by the anti-graft agency on June 16, over internet fraud allegations.

She was arraigned before a special offence court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on July 6, and consequently detained in the EFCC’s custody.

Adeherself later regained freedom after meeting her bail conditions — which included a sum of N500,000 and provision of sureties with reliable means of income which would be verified in court.

In a post on her Instagram page on Tuesday, the social media comedienne said the experience has caused her pains.

Adeherself, however, said she had decided to remain quiet over the situation based on her lawyer’s advice.

“If there’s one thing I’ve learnt in life, it’s to never give up no matter how hard things may get in life…. I am Adeherself Yes, I’m cheerful, happy, playful, energetic and free spirited, I won’t deny the fact that right now I’m in pains and presently going through a phase I never imagined I could ever face in life,” she wrote.

She apologised to her fans over her seeming silence over the development while appreciating them for their support so far.

“I know I will come out of this victorious, and by the special grace of God with the help of my counselor, I’ll be Adeherself the real king of queens once again,” she added.

“To all my lovers out there, I’m sorry I have not been able to say much about what has been going on concerning the whole situation on ground.

“Please understand that this still an ongoing case, and I’m following the instructions of my lawyers…I love you all with all my heart and I assure you that’s Adeherself will be Adeherself once again.”
