Tony Todd, the Hollywood actor popularly known for his roles in ‘Final Destination’ and the ‘Candyman’ horror franchise, has died aged 69.

The father-of-two died on Wednesday night at his home in Marina Del Rey, California, Los Angeles.

The actor’s representative however did not reveal the cause of death.

Born on December 4, 1954, in Washington, D.C., Todd studied at the University of Connecticut for two years before getting a scholarship for the Eugene O’Neill National Theatre Institute.

He also proceeded to study at the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, Rhode Island

Todd made his acting debut in 1986 for his role in ‘Sleepwalk’ but rose to fame for his role in ‘Candyman’ the 1992 movie.

In his 40-year career, Todd featured in hundreds of films, stage productions and television dramas.

His film resume includes: ‘Platoon’ (1986), ‘Night of the Living Dead’ (1990), ‘The Crow’ (1994), ‘The Rock’ (1996), ‘Wishmaster’ (1997), ‘Hatchet’ (2006), ‘Minotaur’ (2006), and ‘The Man from Earth’ (2007).

Others are ‘Frankenstein’ (2015), ‘Death House’ (2017), ‘Hell Fest’ (2018), ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ (2009), ‘The Flash’ (2015–2023) and ‘Darkseid'(2015–2020).

He was nominated for the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards and the British Academy Games Awards.

Todd is survived by his two children, Alex and Ariana.
