Don Brymo Uchegbu, the Nollywood actor, has passed away at the age of 56.
Mayor Ofoegbu, a colleague of the actor, first announced the development on Thursday.
“My man, my 5 & 6, Don Brymo Uchegbu, passed in his sleep,” the actor wrote.
“I received the shocking news this morning and had to verify from his family.”
Abubakar Yakubu, general secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), also confirmed Uchegbu’s passing to TheCable.
He said the guild is looking to pay a visit to the bereaved family.
Multiple reports claim Uchegbu collapsed in his hotel room in Ahoada, Rivers state after returning from a film set.
It was said that the veteran actor was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The reports claim he had suffered a partial stroke and a high sugar level.
Yakubu, however, said the AGN is yet to hear from the bereaved family to ascertain the cause of death.
“Right now, we don’t have details. But it’s been confirmed that he died in his sleep,” the secretary general said.
“We’ve gotten through to those who last worked with him on set. There are some facts we still need to clarify.”
Brymo Uchegbu was born in November 26, 1996.
The actor is popular for his role in movies such as ‘Anger Of A Wonder Girl’ and ‘Ikemba’.
Other Nollywood films he has acted in are ‘Ritual of Vengeance’ and ‘Wedding in Nigeria’.
