Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Kwara state governor, has congratulated Ololade Adesina, the student who scored 9As in the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Adesina, a student of Rehoboth College in Ilorin, scored distinctions in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and four other subjects.
He also got 298 in the last UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor’s spokesperson, Abdulrazaq said Adesina’s result is evidence of “hard work, brilliance, focus, and family support”.
The governor said the boy’s family deserves encouragement for instilling discipline in Adesina to “become a pride of their clan”.
“The family especially deserves a pat on the back for the great upbringing, discipline, and efforts that shaped Ololade to become a pride of their clan,” the statement reads.
The statement added that the governor “urges the brilliant lad to remain focused as he continues on a promising academic journey that, with faith in God, is certain to bear sweet fruits for him, his family, and the larger society”.
Last Thursday, during his school’s graduation ceremony, Adesina also bagged 15 awards.
In his valedictory speech, Adesina commended the college staff members for their contribution to his academic success.
