Akinyibi Ahmed, the Nigerian singer better known as Bella Shmurda, has recounted his birth story on the occasion of his birthday.

In a series of tweets, the singer, who turns 26 today, revealed that he was born in the early hours of the morning around 3 am, as narrated to him by his mother.

The Dangbana Republik artiste said his mum told him that labour was quite hard for her.

According to him, the incessant bleating of a goat at the backyard of the traditional hospital in Ikorodu where his pregnant mother had visited, made his birth seamless.

“Nd while it was doing that, I was coming out slowly till I was born. The goat did not stop screaming at backyard of the hospital in Ikorodu to be precise, Ita Elewa Wera street.”

To mark his birthday, Bella promised to feed 1000 people in Okoko/Alaba, the neighborhood he grew up in.

“Anyways, I’m feeding 1k mouths today in my hood Okoko/Alaba and I will be doing it every year by God’s grace, he no go shake,” he said in a mix of pidgin and English.

The former Lagos State University (LASU) student recently said he was happy to have dropped out of school to pursue a career in music.
