The ongoing Detty December Fest in Lagos delivered an unforgettable night of music on Friday, headlined by iconic American rapper Busta Rhymes, Nigeria’s rap king MI Abaga, and the queen of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage.

Held at the vibrant Ilubirin venue in Ikoyi, the concert drew a diverse, energetic crowd from across Lagos and around the world, all eager for a legendary showcase.

The evening kicked off with hypeman Sheye Banks energizing the audience, perfectly setting the stage for the headline acts.

MI Abaga took over, diving straight into a powerhouse set of classics. He had the crowd roaring with anthems like ‘Bullion Van’, ‘Number 1’, and the timeless collaboration with 2Baba, ‘Nobody’.

The anticipation reached a fever pitch for Busta Rhymes, whose entrance was nothing short of cinematic. An AI-generated video depicting a fiery dragon laying siege to major American cities played on the massive screens, building suspense before Spliff Star urged the cheering masses to welcome the legend himself.

Busta Rhymes then stormed the stage with explosive energy, powering through iconic hits like ‘Touch It’, ‘Make It Clap’, ‘Bounce’, and ‘Twerk It’.

Overwhelmed by the reception, he declared Nigeria a home he had missed for 15 years.

“This is home,” he told the ecstatic crowd, even joking about his plans to secure property in the country and marry a Nigerian woman.

Adding rhythmic fire to the night, the Aerobic drummers delivered electrifying performances that bookended the main acts.

Closing out the stellar lineup, Tiwa Savage serenaded the audience with a captivating performance. She moved seamlessly through fan favorites including ‘My Darling’, ‘Girlie’, and ‘Somebody’s Son’, ensuring the night ended on a high note.
