Nkechi Blessing, the Nigerian actress, has revealed that she got the woman who took the viral gym photo that triggered widespread online mockery and body-shaming arrested.
In September, a social media user shared an unflattering photo of Nkechi at the gym.
The widely circulated picture shows the actress seated in a relaxed posture during a workout session with her stomach visibly pronounced.
The incident drew widespread criticism and harsh comments about the actress’ body.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Nkechi said she tracked down and got the woman behind the viral post arrested.
Nkechi, who became emotional during the interview, said the gym initially refused to release her details.
“This is who I’ve always been. I wear the clothes that make me feel comfortable and I’m not trying to hide from nobody,” she said.
“You have BBL you dey snap me wey get natural body, are you stupid sis? iFitness hid her information from me but I don’t care about iFitness.
“I found her and got her arrested of course. Because I didn’t come online?”
Nkechi dismissed public comparisons between surgically enhanced bodies and natural figures, adding that she would not allow anyone mock or shame her for her appearance.
The actress previously said she went to the gym “to stay fit and healthy,” not for “a fashion show or runway”.
