Peggy Ovire, the Nigerian actress, has responded to actor Taye Arimoro’s allegations of harassment and physical assault on a production set.

The conflict came to light on Tuesday when Arimoro took to Instagram to accuse Ovire and her team of detaining him against his will and assaulting him.

The actor claimed the altercation began when he attempted to leave the set after his contracted call time of 11 p.m. had elapsed. He said after waiting for nearly an hour, he decided to go home.

According to him, Ovire instructed a team member to block his car from leaving and demanded he film “two quick scenes” before departing.

He said the situation allegedly escalated into physical violence.

“I said I want to go home, but they don’t want me to. You’re holding me against my will, and it isn’t cool,” he said.

“Why would you block me? I can’t go to my house again? Why? I’m not shooting two scenes. I told you, if it’s 12 p.m., I’m out.”

In a subsequent video, Arimoro showed his bleeding gums and lips, claiming he was assaulted by Ovire’s team. He also alleged that three of his car tyres were deflated to prevent his escape from the location.

“I definitely need to see a dentist because my lower front tooth is damaged, and I’m also seeing a lawyer. I can’t drive my car because they deflated about three of my tyres,” he said.

“It’s really bad. I’ve never experienced anything like this because I don’t cause trouble, especially when it comes to work.”

Responding via her Instagram story, Ovire alleged that it was Arimoro who became violent first.

The actress claimed that Arimoro, without any prior discussion, suddenly packed his bags and insisted on leaving.

She accused him of deliberately omitting key details, including that he had arrived on set around 12 p.m. that day and that the crew was merely pleading with him to complete “two short scenes” so they could wrap up for the night.

She described the physical altercation as “completely unexpected,” stating that Arimoro “got physical” with the production manager when he approached him. Ovire said that by the time she intervened, a struggle over car keys was underway.

“You beat up two crew members simply because you felt they had no voice, no social media presence, and no one to speak for them. They were only pleading with you to please complete two short scenes so we could wrap up for the night,” she wrote.

“Moments later, you went live to record their reaction, leaving out the part where the violence began. No one deserves to be treated that way, especially people who are only doing their jobs.

“Taye, you came to set that day around 12 p.m., something you conveniently left out of your version of events. We filmed into the night, and without any prior discussion, you packed your bags and said you were leaving.”

She described the physical altercation as “completely unexpected,” stating that Arimoro “got physical” with the production manager when he approached him. Ovire said that by the time she intervened, a struggle over car keys was underway.

“On this recent production, you wrapped by 6:30 p.m. on the first day and 7:30 p.m. on the second. Everyone who knows me knows I dislike filming late into the night. I’m always the first to ask the crew to wrap up early because I’m naturally an early sleeper,” she added.

“Everything was fine between us until you got upset when I asked that we shoot one quick scene before your BTS video, as the car we were using needed to leave.

“You reacted sharply when I tried to talk to you, so I decided to give you space. From then on, I noticed a change in your attitude. Later, when the production manager approached you to appeal for more time, you got physical with him, something completely unexpected.

“By the time I came outside, you were struggling over the car keys. I tried to intervene and asked you to please calm down and hand me the keys, but you drove off while I was still beside the car.

“Moments later, I discovered my driver was bleeding from his ear after being hit multiple times. I was shocked.”
