‘Chanel’, the hit track by South African singer Tyla, has been ranked number one on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart.
The track, released via FAX/Epic Records, achieved the feat with an impressive 2.1 million official streams and several hundred downloads in the United States during its first tracking week from October 24 to 30.
‘Chanel’ ended the 25-week dominance of ‘Shake It to the Max (Fly)’ by Moliy, Silent Addy, Skillibeng, and Shenseea, which now slipped to second place on the chart.
Beyond the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats chart, ‘Chanel’ also peaked at No. 5 on the World Digital Song Sales chart and debuted at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Afrobeats Chart.
With ‘Chanel,’ Tyla earns her third No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, solidifying her status as a dominant force.
She previously led the chart for a historic 55 weeks with ‘Water’ and for 20 weeks with ‘Push 2 Start,’ both of which remarkably remain in the current top five.

The song, however, sparked tension between the South African singer and American rapper Yung Miami.
In a post on X, the rapper claimed she had previously played her own unreleased song —which contains the lyrics “take me to Chanel” —for Tyla.
Yung Miami expressed her frustration, writing, “This girl really ran off with my song, and I don’t know how to feel about it. Mind you, I played this song for her,” noting the similarity to Tyla’s line, “put me in Chanel.”
