Keith Sweat, the ace R&B singer, has released a new version of her single ‘Working II,’ featuring the legendary rapper Lil Wayne and Nigeria’s songstress Qing Madi.
The song officially debuted on Friday, serving as a direct sequel to Sweat’s earlier release, ‘Working,’ which also featured Qing Madi.
The soulful track delves into the themes of love, dedication, and emotional investment, with the artistes creatively framing romance as a demanding yet rewarding job that requires unwavering consistency and devotion.
“You know I’ve been working/ Working, work-working for your love!/ You know I been searching/ Searching searching for your love!/ You know I’ve been working/ Working, work-working for your love!/ You know I been searching/ Searching searching for your love!/ I put that work in, I put that work in/ You got that fire, I got that earth wind,” they sing.
Sweat, the Harlem-born singer, songwriter, and producer, rose to fame in the late 1980s with his landmark debut album ‘Make It Last Forever’.
Renowned for his smooth vocals and sensual style, he is widely celebrated as a pioneer of the new jack swing era.
Qing Madi, born Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, represents the new wave of African talent. Hailing from Delta state, Nigeria, she began her musical journey early, performing in school talent shows and singing in her church choir.
She first captured national attention with the 2022 release of her hit single ‘See Finish.’ Her star continued to rise in 2023 with popular tracks like ‘Ole’ featuring BNXN and ‘American Love,’ culminating in the release of her self-titled debut EP that same year.
Lil Wayne is frequently hailed as one of the greatest rappers of all time.
