Sammy West, brother to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has lamented that he was “invited by police to report for questioning in Abuja through a WhatsApp message”.

In a post via Instagram story on Monday, West posted a screenshot of the purported exchange with a detective who identified herself as Oluseyi from the Nigeria Police Force area command in Maitama.

The message invited West to the command for “fact-finding purposes” over an investigation that reportedly listed his name in connection with several offences.

“Greetings to you Mr. Sammy Ojeofor, my name is Detective Oluseyi attached to NPF Area Command Metro no 30 Nile Street Maitama Abuja,” the message reads.

“The office address is Nigeria Police Force Area command Metro, No 30 Nile Street Maitama Abuja. On your arrival report to the Area Crime Officer or ask for me. Looking forward to seeing you pls.”

Reacting to the invitation, West, who is also a singer, questioned the method and the charges.

“Is this how police invite? Is that charge for me?” he wrote, adding that the detective used the wrong name.

West has been in the spotlight since a viral video showed Regina accusing her husband Ned Nwoko of domestic violence.
