Shallipopi, the Nigerian singer, has joined forces with Grammy-nominated American rapper Gunna for a new song titled ‘Him’.

The artiste, born Crown Uzama, announced the track’s arrival across all streaming platforms on Friday.

The song is a masterful blend of their distinct styles. ‘Him’ is built on Shallipopi’s signature sound —a vibrant and witty fusion of Afrobeats and street-hop, packed with local slangs and infectious energy.

The foundation is perfectly complemented by Gunna’s signature contribution: smooth, laid-back flows and cool, confident lyrics that slide effortlessly over the beat.

Lyrically, ‘Him’ serves as an anthem of self-assurance and triumph. The track celebrates unshakable confidence, hard-earned success, and bold self-expression through a series of evocative lines.

“God said go into the world and multiply/ Na me dem dey show for your telly/Only a daily, they be streaming Shallipopi on Spotify (confirm)/ Many tell me I’m not qualified, I ball heavily (yeah)/ You can find me in the club every week, yeah (week, yeah)/ If enemy attack, me, I defend/ Imma gazo, no need for distress,” they sing.

Shallipopi rose to fame after releasing his first single ‘Elon Musk’ in March 2023.

Gunna, on the other hand, is an American rapper with three Grammy nominations under his belt.
