O’tega Ogra, an aide to President Bola Tinubu, has threatened to sue Timi Dakolo, the singer, over debt allegations.
The controversy began on October 12 when Dakolo took to social media to urge Ogra to answer his calls.
The singer’s post, which read, “Mr @otegaogra please pick your calls. I did my job,” implied that he had not been compensated for services rendered.

In his reaction, Ogra framed the issue as an “institutional matter” that Dakolo is “attempting to personalise”.
He declined to provide a detailed public explanation, stating his public record stands on its merits.
Ogra also warned that any further attempt to personalise the situation would attract “professional and legal” action.
“I see and have noted the commentary. I will not engage in explication where none is required. My record is public and stands on its merits,” he wrote.
“Any further attempt to personalise a clearly institutional matter will be met with formal correction and the appropriate professional and legal redress.”

Providing further context on Instagram, Ogra clarified that the financial responsibility lay with the event’s “corporate partners,” not with him.
He expressed frustration at being portrayed as responsible for the organisation’s “failure to meet its financial obligations,” weeks after the concluded event.
“It is unfortunate that corporate partners to an event long concluded are yet to meet their financial obligations to those who worked on it,” he wrote.
“Weeks later, I now find myself in a position where it appears I am personally responsible for a corporate inaction. That is neither accurate nor acceptable.
“I am not personally involved in any financial transaction, and it would be dishonest to suggest otherwise.
“I respect every professional who delivered their part of the work, but accountability must remain where it belongs.
“My name will not serve as a substitute for institutional responsibility and I will not be made personally responsible for a corporate inaction.”
