Tiwa Savage has addressed her long-standing rift with fellow singer Seyi Shay, revealing that she feels the need to have a direct conversation to resolve their differences.

The feud between the two artistes, which has played out publicly over several years, intensified in 2021 after a heated face-to-face altercation in Lagos.

The conflict has been fuelled by various allegations from both sides.

Savage previously accused Shay of collaborating with Kenyan singer Victoria Kimani to tarnish her reputation.

This stemmed from Kimani’s 2019 claim that Savage “does not like to share the stage with any female artiste”.

Shay also attributed the beef to a serious infidelity allegation.

Reflecting on the conflict in a recent interview on The OffAir Show, Savage expressed the hurt she felt, particularly over Shay’s decision to release a diss track against her.

The songstress revealed the pain of being publicly targeted without understanding the root cause.

She emphasised that she would have preferred Shay to approach her privately about their issues rather than taking them to social media and the recording studio.

“If you do something to me I will let you know. I do not have to let you know online like the whole Seyi thing,” she said.

“I am not going to pretend that you and I were cool when you did a diss track. That was cool and painful. And I did not know where it was coming from.”

She concluded on a conciliatory note, adding, “Maybe I need to have a conversation with Seyi. I do not have an issue”.

Savage previously revealed that a colleague claimed that she blocks opportunities for other female artistes.

The songstress denounced the narrative as “a lie,” asserting that “I am pro-women”.
