Regina Daniels, the Nollywood actress, has found herself at the center of a social media storm after sharing a controversial prank video featuring her husband Ned Nwoko.
The incident began with an Instagram post on Monday, where Daniels shared a clip she had recorded secretly in a bathroom.
The video showed a moment of domestic intrusion as Nwoko entered the restroom, only to be met with his wife’s camera and a song playing in the background with highly contentious lyrics.
The song’s lyrics, which could be heard in the video, included phrases such as “husband is useless. Yeye man must die, kill your husband make your life better. If you kill your husband you no go suffer and will get plenty freedom.”
The clip captured Nwoko’s visibly displeased reaction before Daniels quickly blocked the view as he began to urinate.
In her caption, the actress framed the video as a lighthearted attempt to annoy her spouse.
“Not me planning to make a video that will piss off my oga at the top only for him to be the main character. How I wan take settle this one now, me I sha post my thing,” she wrote.

Despite her playful intent, the post drew immediate and widespread criticism online. Many users condemned her choice of song and described the act as deeply disrespectful, particularly given Nwoko’s status as a senator and public figure.
An X user identified as Mira criticised the actress saying “Omo Regina Daniels no try at all”.
Another user said: “Sooner or later… a man regrets marrying for aesthetics”.

However, the senator himself seemed to take the prank in stride.
Responding directly to the Instagram post, Nwoko left a lighthearted comment that diffused the tension: “This wife of my old as I call her. Come here”.
Daniels also defended herself in the comments section against the barrage of criticism.
She insisted the clip was all in good fun and emphasised that beyond his public role, Nwoko is first and foremost her husband.
In a direct reply to a critic, she stated, “A senator that’s my husband behind closed doors! That’s not hard to digest abi”.
The couple tied the knot in 2019. The union is blessed with two children.
