The event, a celebration of global Black music and culture, featured a powerhouse lineup including Asake, Shatta Wale, Wande Coal, and rapper Gunna.

Wizkid’s set was a highlight of the night, featuring a dynamic run-through of hits from his seminal sophomore album, ‘Ayo (Joy)’.

The energy peaked during his performance of ‘In My Bed’, where he sprayed water on the ecstatic crowd while chanting the iconic Yoruba praise lyrics: “Balogun eleniyan/ Wizzy eleniyan/ Ogunmola eleniyan/ Agbaje eleniyan/ Fashola eleniyan/ Tinubu eleniyan/ Otedola eleniyan”.

He further captivated the audience with renditions of ‘Kese Kese’, ‘Caro’, and a performance of Gunna’s ‘Fukumean’.

Wizkid, 34, rose to stardom in 2011 after the release of his debut album ‘Superstar’.

He has released other albums, including ‘Sound from the Other Side’ (2017), and ‘More Love, Less Ego’ (2022).

Wizkid’s last album ‘Morayo’ was released on November 22, 2024, as a tribute to his late mother, who passed away in August 2023.

He won a Grammy Award in 2021 for his contribution to Beyoncé’s ‘Brown Skin Girl.’
