In a recent chat with media personality Zeze Millz, Savage said she previously dated men who were not on her level in terms of wealth, status or fame.

She said her friends often described her decision to be involved with such men as “dating down”.

“I don’t want to look at anybody I’ve dated and be like I dated down. But my people say that I date down because of either financially they’re not where I am or status or fame,” she said.

“But no, I think that was a mistake I used to make, like ‘Oh my God I don’t care if you’re not making money, it’s just the love’. I think I just need someone that has money. I think I’m at that point now.

“Love, yeah that’s really nice, but no. Judge me. I’m not even looking for something long, listen, let’s start with just money.

“I have tried the other way for so many years. Let me try what’s it’s like for a man to meet me at the jetty, take a plane and go somewhere.”

The ‘Koroba’ hitmaker also revealed she is open to trying dating apps despite her celebrity status.

“I want to try dating apps. But the thing is how would I be on there, like they would know me. Let me just try it,” she said.

Savage, often referred to as the “Queen of Afrobeats”, is known for her chart-topping hits and fashion-forward persona.

In May, the music star disclosed that she is avoiding relationships with Nigerian men because of their “lack of romance”.
