Davido, the award-winning Nigerian singer, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late son Ifeanyi Adeleke — nearly three years after the toddler’s death.
Ifeanyi passed away on October 30, 2022, after drowning in a swimming pool at Davido’s residence in Lagos’ upscale Banana Island neighborhood.
In a recent X post, the ‘With You’ hitmaker commemorated his son’s memory, referring to him as a “legend”.
“Ifeanyi David Adedeji Adeleke. Rip Legend,” he wrote.

In 2023, Davido opened up about the emotional toll of losing his son, admitting that he had struggled to cope with the tragedy.
Though he acknowledged overcoming the darkest phase of his grief, the singer revealed that the pain remains fresh.
“I miss him every day, there’s tears coming out of my eyes every morning, you don’t have to see it,” he said.
“I look at myself in the mirror and I said apart from it just being about me, I know how many people love me, I know how many people are depending on me.”
Following Ifeanyi’s death, the police interrogated eight of the singer’s domestic workers, including his nanny.
The nanny and his cook were subsequently detained for investigations while the others were set free.
Davido and his wife Chioma Rowland welcomed twins in the United States in October 2023.
The lovebirds tied the knot traditionally in June 2024. In November 2024, Davido disclosed that Chioma had been his girlfriend for 12 years.
