Speaking about the projects, AA Okwuosa, founder and CEO of Umuada Productions, expressed deep pride in bringing Nwapa’s stories to new audiences, calling them a “dream come true.”

“This is a dream come true. I grew up with Miss Flora Nwapa’s work. Who knew that one day we would be here, creating the perfect energy for its rightful resurgence?” she said.

“This work further immortalizes Flora Nwapa’s legacy and provides a new perspective in the way her work is appreciated globally.”

Nwapa, often hailed as the mother of modern African women’s literature, was a trailblazer in centering Igbo women’s experiences while exploring themes of womanhood, war, and postcolonial identity.

Notably, she became the first African woman novelist published in English in Britain.

Nwapa passed away on October 16, 1993, at the age of 62.
