Timaya, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, has delivered a new single titled ‘Mase’.

The 44-year-old musician announced the release via his Instagram page on Thursday.

He wrote, “MASE. 29/11/24 TOMORROW 💣 seasons greetings y’all”.

Staying true to his signature sound, ‘Mase’ is a groovy, feel-good dance track.

In the track, Timaya sings about rising above external criticisms and staying focused on his path.

“E no dey bother, e no dey bother me, e no fit bother me, say your talk no dey bother me too much cho cho cho, e no fit bother me. Anything I wan do mase, mase, mase, Olorun mase o,” the lyrics read.

The new single follows on the heels of ‘Gladiator‘, the singer’s eighth studio album, which he described as “a statement of resilience and strength”.

Born Inetimi Timaya Odon, the Bayelsa-born artiste rose to prominence in 2005 with the hit single ‘Dem Mama’.

Over the years, he has seamlessly fused Nigerian pop with dancehall, hip-hop, and Afro-Caribbean influences, earning him accolades and recognitions in the industry, including the Dancehall Act of the Year award at AFRIMMA in 2017.

He is also the founder of DM Records Limited, a label that houses music stars like Patoranking and Runtown.
