Event manager launches ‘state-of-the-art’ entertainment arena in Oyo

Semiu Adenekan, the Nigerian event manager better known as DJ Semight, has launched a “state-of-the-art” entertainment arena in Ibadan, Oyo state. 

During the ceremony unveiling the Excelsior Bar & Lounge, Adenekan said he invested “billions of naira into the project as my way of contributing to Nigeria’s entertainment industry”.

DJ Semight said the arena is equipped with “ultra-modern facilities including swimming pool, high-class kitchen, superlative dining room, automated restrooms, spacious restaurant that can also be used as a venue for birthday and other parties”.

The logistics manager said the bar, located beside the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo in Basorun, boasts “internationally sourced equipment and locally crafted outdoor designs”.

DJ Semight emphasised attention to detail, stating that experts from Osogbo, Osun state, were invited to design the motifs and soundproofed roofs.

“This modest effort and investment we have at Excelsior Bar & Lounge is our own way of contributing to the entertainment industry in Nigeria,” he said.

“We made sure we did not leave any stone unturned in our quest to achieve near perfection while constructing the lounge and bar.

“We brought in experts from Osogbo to design the motifs on the fence as you can see. We also got experts to design our roofs for effective soundproofing against the rains.

“In addition, we specially imported a one-in-town stage for our performers. Naturally, this is our selling point. The stage was also accompanied by the most current array of public address systems including the mixers and special lightings.”

Adenekan, the CEO of Melody Events and Entertainment Limited, also assured that security and safety are his top priorities.

“Security and safety are very important to us. Those who know us or have done one or two businesses with us in the past 35 years will confirm this,” he said.

“We have staged so many open-field shows, carried out outdoor marketing activation assignments for the likes of Nigerian Breweries, MTN, Etisalat, major political parties and so many others. We do not compromise. We are specialists. We ensure that the right pegs are in the right holes at all times.

“Our highly skilled and professional staff members are ready to give their best too.”

Excelsior Bar & Lounge will officially open in late November 2024.
