They also reflected on the challenges confronting the nation and offered words of encouragement.

In an Instagram post, Davido, the Afrobeats star, teased the release of a new song while celebrating the occasion.

Joining the fray, Eniola Badmus called on Nigerians to “remember the values of peace, unity, and prosperity”.

“Today marks another year of freedom, unity, and growth for the vibrant nation of Nigeria. It’s a day to reflect on the strength and resilience of its people, the diversity of its rich cultures, and the strides made in overcoming challenges since gaining independence in 1960,” she wrote.

Similarly, Stan Eze, the actor, shared a video of the country’s flag and praised Nigerians for their resilience.

“Today I celebrate our journey, no matter how tough. The journey of resilience, the journey of hope. Hope of a land where dreams blossom,” he wrote on Instagram.
