Uchechi Emelonye, the Nigerian-British singer, has come through with ‘Mixed Emotions’, her debut extended play (EP).

The singer announced the release of the body of work across all streaming platforms via her social media pages.

Songs on the body of work include ‘My Time’, ‘First Time’, ‘Foolish’, ‘Over You’, ‘Dance’ and ‘Margins’.

In ‘Mixed Emotions’, Uchechi takes listeners through the stages of love, heartache, and self-discovery.

With a blend of captivating melodies and poignant lyrics, she also adopts the art of storytelling through music that resonates with listeners on a profound level.

She uses her sounds to evoke emotions. Her vocals also did justice to the sound and guided one through a spectrum of feelings.

Uchechi started her career at the age of 13 where she took part in various school band performances and productions.

She began to gain traction with the release of ‘Little Black Bird’ and ‘Sunrise to Sundown’.

‘Underwater’, another single by Emelonye, won the BBC Music Introducing ‘Record of the Year 2022’ in Lancashire, England.

The 22-year-old Imo state indigene also holds a degree in Law from the University of Lancaster, UK. She describes her genre of music as Afrosoul.
