The track features Brent Faiyaz, the US singer, and is part of ‘Morayo’, Wizkid’s upcoming album, which he has been teasing for months.
In March, Wizkid revealed that ‘Morayo’ is not an Afrobeats project.
“Album name ‘Morayo’ best I ever made. I am not an Afrobeats artistes. Don’t call me that,” he wrote.
“If you like Afrobeats please don’t download my album, I’m not Afro anything.”
However, Wizkid has yet to announce the release date for the album.
‘Piece of My Heart’ follows the second installment of Wizkid’s extended play (EP) ‘Soundman‘, which featured collaborations with colleagues like Zlatan Ibile and Wande Coal.
Wizkid, born Ayodeji Balogun, gained prominence in 2011 when he released his debut album ‘Superstar’.
He has released four additional albums including, ‘Ayo’, ‘Sound From The Other Side’ in 2017, ‘Made In Lagos’ in 2020, and ‘More Love, Less Ego’ in 2022.
He has also received numerous recognitions, including a Grammy Award in 2021 for his collaboration with Beyoncé on the hit song ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
