Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, the controversial Onitsha-based pastor better known as Odumeje, has claimed that Aliko Dangote‘s refusal to seek his prophetic help led to the fire outbreak at his refinery.

On June 26, a section of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery was gutted by fire.

Anthony Chiejina, a spokesperson for Dangote Industries Limited, confirmed that the incident occurred at the effluent treatment plant (ETP).

The fire outbreak caused significant damage to the facility and affected some workers.

Months before the incident, Odumeje had prophesied that there would be a fire outbreak at Dangote’s refinery and urged the billionaire businessman to come to his church.

“Bring Dangote here, I will save him before that oil refinery burn. I see fire coming in that oil kingdom. I saw fire on that Dangote oil something,” he had said.

During a recent service, Odumeje mocked Dangote for failing to heed his warning.

He argued that if Dangote had come to his church, the refinery would not have caught fire, and he would not be spending so much on repairs.

“If Dangote humbled himself to come here, the refinery would not burn. It is simple! He will not spend that money. Now who is losing? He is spending billions of dollars to repair the factory because of pride and looking down on a prophet,” he said.

Odumeje has always been in the news for controversial reasons. The cleric rode to fame on the back of what many described as his “unorthodox practices”.

He recently argued that “every Nigerian is illiterate as long as the country is still underdeveloped”.
