Eedris Abdulkareem, the ace rapper, says it is “truly saddening” that singer Burna Boy will “wish me dead.”
The rift between the two entertainers started after Eedris, in a snippet of an unreleased episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, addressed a remark made by Burna Boy some years ago.
In 2020, the ‘African Giant’ hitmaker declared that nobody paved the way for him in Nigeria.
But in the recent podcast, the ‘Jaga Jaga’ hitmaker said it was “stupid” for Burna Boy to have made such a statement.
Peeved by Eedris’ remark, Burna Boy took his X page to hit back at the ace singer in a now-deleted tweet.
The 32-year-old said he did not blame Eedris for his comment but the people who donated money to settle his hospital bills when he underwent a kidney transplant in 2022.
Burna Boy was referring to when Eedris was diagnosed with kidney failure and a fundraiser was garnered for the singer.
Reacting to the tweet, Eedris also said it is “very shameful” for Burna Boy to “make fun of my health crisis and blame people that helped to keep me alive”.
“Wishing me or any other person dead is truly saddening and very disappointing,” he wrote.
“Making fun of my health crisis and blaming people that helped to keep me alive is very shameful.
“Threatening my life is a different ball game, but for you to play God? Thats the most nauseating foul prank of all times.
“Now, conscientious Nigerians and the general public are weighing into the matter and you instantly deleted your demonic prayers for me.”
The ace rapper added that he will be putting out a diss track for Burna Boy in a fortnight.
“I will reply through the only medium that I have… and that is music; so I will be dropping my heartfelt response via a single aptly named ‘Essay to Burna Boy’ in a fortnight,” he said.
