Yvonne Orji, the Nigerian-American actress, has revealed that she is still a virgin at the age of 39.
In an interview with Chelsea Handler, the US media personality, Orji was asked if she is still a virgin, and she replied, “Yes”.
The interviewer then asked, “And you’re 39?” Orji also replied, “Yes”.
“Pray for him, whoever he is, because there is a lot of pent-up energy up in here with me,” the actress added.
Orji has been open about her decision to remain a virgin. She has spoken about it in several interviews.
In 2017, she said her decision was based on her religious beliefs and her own personal values.
Speaking about the reason she ventured into Hollywood, Orji said she had a conversation with God about the path He would want her to follow while in the movie industry.
She said: “Before any of [the fame] happened, I sat down with myself and with God and thought, when I make it, how do you want me to represent you while I’m here?”
She added that it later dawned on her that her purpose in going into acting was to “make God proud”.
Orji is best known for her role as Molly Carter in the Home Box Office (HBO) produced series, ‘Insecure’.
In 2020, her parents celebrated her first-ever Emmy nomination for the ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series’ category.
