Damian Okoligwe, the skit maker, has denied allegations of killing his girlfriend, Otuene Justina Nkang, who was a 300-level undergraduate at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
Okoligwe was arrested after Nkang — who had been reportedly missing for four days — was found dead in his apartment.
At the scene were decaying and mutilated remains of the deceased wrapped in a translucent plastic bag.
Okoligwe was also accused of killing her for ritual purposes.
During an interrogation with the police, the skit maker claimed that he did not kill his girlfriend.
He added that he only came home to meet her dismembered body.
“I did not kill her, I only found her dead in my apartment in the morning. I do not know who dismembered her body,” he said.
On Thursday, Muyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), said the case is currently being investigated and promised that justice will be served.
“The CP Rivers is handling this, and he will soon speak to it. It’s certain there will be justice,” he said.
Okoligwe is known on social media for some of his skits which involve asking young ladies to do strange and unusual tasks for cash prizes.
