Ruger, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, has put out his new single titled ‘Kristy’.
The song was released on streaming platforms in the early hours of Friday.
‘Kristy’ was produced by Kukbeatz, the music producer.
“Tell me where you dey go/ Girl I need you here right now/ Where you dey go? Hmm high me spirit high me soul/ Stay in a me yard till sun down hmm/ Bum bum sweeter than Mirinda/ Caterpillar big tipper/ London diva buy you visa/ Tequila give me ginger,” he sings.
“Fresh like bread wey dem do today/ Omo you no need Mary Kay/ Omoge you be like take away/ Other girls dem still dey learn/ Make I give you bottom belle/ Kristy shey you dey hear.”
Born Michael Adebayo, Ruger rose to prominence in 2021 after he signed a record deal with D’Prince’s Jonzing World Record, an affiliate of Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records.
The 23-year-old has received several awards and recognition.
In 2021, he won the AFRIMA best newcomer award. He also won the best new artiste category at the 2023 Soundcity MVP Awards.
In March, Ruger revealed the title of his debut album as ‘Ru The World’.
The music star already has two extended plays (EPs) to his name titled ‘Pandemic’ (2021) and ‘Second Wave’ (2022).
He has also released some hit songs like ‘Bounce’, ‘Girlfriend’, and ‘Dior’.
