Zozibini Tunzi, the South African model, and IK Osakioduwa, the Nigerian TV star, have been named the hosts of the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).
The Miss Universe 2019 will be joining the Nigerian media personality, who returns for the 9th time to host the prestigious awards.
“Africa, get excited! @ik_osakioduwa is all set to host the eagerly anticipated #AMVCA9 main event alongside Miss Universe 2019, the gorgeous @zozitunzi,” MultiChoice wrote on Twitter.
Reacting to being selected as host, IK said: “It feels good to be hosting the AMVCAs once again; I have been privileged to be on this stage for the past nine years, and I do not take that for granted. I’m excited about the nominees this year and cannot wait to see them all shine.”
On her part, Tunzi said: “It’s an incredible honour to be hosting Africa’s biggest night in entertainment and film with such a talented co-host. This is my first trip to Nigeria, and it could not have gone any better other than being privileged to host the biggest film award in the continent while celebrating our African stars.”
In April, the nominees for the 9th AMVCA were announced by Bisola Aiyeola and Adjetey Anang, the TV stars.
Bimbo Ademoye and Tobi Bakre, the Nollywood stars, are the notable names in the 35-category award list.
Ademoye is up for at least three categories including ‘Best Actress in a Drama, Movie or TV Series’, ‘Best Actress in (Comedy/TV Series)’, and ‘Best Online Social Content Creator’.
Bakre is nominated for ‘Best Actor in a Drama (Movie /TV Series)’ while Mokeme is up for ‘Best Actor in Drama (Movie/TV Series)’.
The award ceremony will take place on May 20.
