Bolanle Austen-Peters, the filmmaker, has lavished Emmanuel Afe Babalola, her father, with praises for donating £10 million for the establishment of a learning centre at King’s College, London.
In a Twitter post on Monday evening, the 54-year-old movie director said her dad “makes philanthropy beautiful”.
She also appreciated Babalola for the benevolence while saying she is “so proud to be the daughter” of the senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
“My Dad @are_afe makes philanthropy beautiful with another gift of 10 million pounds to @KingsCollegeLon for African children’s education after building No. 1 @Abuad_Uni. So proud to be your daughter,” she wrote.

On Sunday, Afe Babalola donated the sum for the establishment of the African centre for transnational education in the UK-based college.
Babalola said the project was in line with his passion for providing quality education.
He also described education as the “remedy to societal challenges.”
He revealed that the project was inspired by his ability to remotely secure a degree from the University of London.
“Education is the unquestionable panacea to ignorance, poverty, extremism, religious bigotry, and tribalism among other vices,” he said.
“My contribution to this programme is a way of reciprocating what I benefited from the laudable and unique external degree programme of the University of London in the 1960s.”
Born in 1969 in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, Bolanle is the daughter of Afe Babalola and Bisi Babalola.
