Matthew Kukah, the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, is set to hold a book reading event for his new book ‘Broken Truths: Nigeria’s Elusive Quest for National Cohesion.’
In a statement, the cleric said the event will hold on August 29 at RovingHeights bookstore in Garki, Abuja.
The statement said the book is a collection of convocation lectures delivered by Kukah over several years at several universities across Nigeria.
It added that in the book — published by PCJ Press, an imprint of Adonis & Abbey Publisher — the clergyman reflects on the “myriad challenges bedeviling the Nigerian nation.”
“In Broken Truths: Nigeria’s Elusive Quest for National Cohesion, a collection of convocation lectures delivered over several years at several Universities across Nigeria, Matthew Hassan Kukah, outspoken Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, reflects on the myriad challenges bedeviling the Nigerian nation,” the statement reads.
“Published by PCJ Press, an imprint of Adonis & Abbey Publisher, the book covers themes ranging from the Future of Nigeria, Insurgency and national cohesion, and national healing, through freedom and justice in Nigeria.
The statement added that the event would feature Chido Onumah, the journalist, author, and rights activist.
“The event will commence at 6 pm. Interested participants are expected to reserve a seat by sending an email to [email protected],” the statement adds.
