Monalisa Chinda-Coker, the Nollywood actress, says the phone numbers of the people who kidnapped Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, her colleagues, can be traced.
The two actors were reported missing after their family members confirmed that they had yet to return from a movie set they went to at Ozalla Town in Enugu state.
With the reoccurrence of kidnappings across the country in the past months, the actors were then assumed to have been abducted.
On Saturday, Emeka Rollas, president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), however, confirmed that the actors have been kidnapped.
He also said the abductors are demanding for $100,000 ransom.
Reacting via an Instagram post, Coker said the ransom is “outrageous” when compared to the “paltry sum” actors earn.
“I don’t understand how people would think that actors have money, with the paltry sum we receive as fees? The struggle through life vicissitudes, health issues etc we face every now and then??? $100k from where?” Monalisa asked.
The film star went on to suggest a way the kidnappers can be apprehended.
“The numbers that were used to communicate with them can easily be traced…I mean. The search is on,” the actress added.
