A video in which two young ladies are seen rejoicing after allegedly selling their votes has surfaced on social media.
In the now-viral footage, the ladies appeared to be in an ecstatic mood as they showed off some wads of naira notes alongside their permanent voter cards (PVCs).
In another video, some guys could be seen jubilating after receiving what they described as “election money”.
It is understood that the separate incidents took place during the ongoing gubernatorial election in Ekiti state.
The development also comes at about the same time when concerns have been raised about vote-buying and vote-selling which have been criminalised by the Nigerian government.
The governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Ekiti recently alleged that some political parties are inducing the youth to sell their votes.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had also arrested some suspects for engaging in vote-buying during the ongoing election.
