Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, host of Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija), says he was shocked to see an obituary of himself during this year’s edition of the show.
The media personality was reflecting on his experience hosting the just concluded edition of the show in a now-viral video.
Ebuka said although he was trolled and also got death threats in past seasons of the show, the sixth edition was a “new low” for him.
He said while the recent season lasted, he saw an obituary which claimed that he passed away in a fire incident.
“Something very spooky happened. I’ve gotten death threats in the past but for the first time ever, I literally saw an obituary of me, where someone said Ebuka died in a fire, and that confused me,” he said.
“It’s like they’ve gone from wishing me dead to saying I died. So that was a new low for me.”
Ebuka participated in the show’s debut season in 2006 and has been hosting the reality programme since 2017.
He had earlier revealed that he did not plan to go into entertainment before he became the show’s host.
“I had no plans to go into the media or entertainment industry; I just wanted to win the money and disappear!,” he had said.
