Yomi Fabiyi, Nigerian actor, has made good his promise to put out a movie on the sexual assault allegation involving Baba Ijesha, his embattled colleague.
Baba Ijesha is being tried on a six-count charge which includes sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault.
He was earlier granted bail with his trial scheduled to begin on July 26.
In the movie, titled ‘Oko Iyabo‘, Fabiyi, who has been a prominent figure in the case, details what seemed to be his own version of the “incidents that led to the arrest and trial of his embattled colleague.”
The project’s characters take on the names of others also involved in the case including Iyabo Ojo and Comedian Princess.
‘Oko Iyabo’ portrays Lanre (Baba Ijesha) as a victim of a ploy initiated by Princess — the character used to depict the foster mother of the teenager allegedly assaulted — to get the evidence needed to substantiate her allegations against Ijesha.
The movie also depicts Iyabo as a lady from a dysfunctional home with several moral flaws.
It portrays the foster child of Princess as a lady who shares a consenting romantic affair with Lanre before the latter was eventually arrested.
The movie reflects Fabiyi’s stance that Baba Ijesha should not be considered guilty yet until the ongoing investigation into the matter is concluded and tried at the court of law.
The project features several Yoruba movie stars including Lateef Adedimeji, Adewale Elesho and Lola Idije.
The movie appeared to have been taken down on Youtube amid widespread criticism.
