Kelly Hansome, Nigerian singer, has claimed that Don Jazzy, CEO of Mavin Records, once asked operatives of the now-defunct special anti-robbery squad (SARS) to arrest him.
Hansome’s allegation came after a recent remark by Don Jazzy wherein he boasted that no one on earth can accuse him of maltreatment.
The record producer had while speaking during the latest episode of Black Box Interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, TV host, dared anyone with allegations of maltreatment against him to come forward.
“I want somebody to come outside and beat their chest and say Don Jazzy did not treat me right. Then at that point, we might now be responding to something,” he had said.
“I don’t think there is anybody on the surface of earth that would say, this is what Don Jazzy did to me, whether boyfriend, girlfriend that would just say this is what I did. I go out of my way…ask the people close to me, I dey take pains for people.”
But reacting in a now-deleted post, Kelly Hansome countered the record producer, accusing him of assaulting him in the past.
The ‘Maga Don Pay’ crooner also alleged that Don Jazzy asked the now-disbanded police unit to arrest him, adding that he was whisked away from Kano to Abuja in handcuffs.
He also accused the record label boss of intimidating him alongside a friend with dogs.
“Did he also state when he and his girlfriend arrested me with SARS and moved me from Kano to Abuja in handcuffs? No he won’t say that part, but it happened. Did he say when he sent his dogs to intimidate me and @rexidaminabo? No. Thank God Festus Keyamo is still alive,” he wrote.
In a follow-up post on Tuesday, the singer further slammed the music producer while also calling out those backing him over the allegation.
“Your comments don’t offend me, they relax me lol. I’ll definitely have the last laugh. E don hang already. Remember, party no dey end finish! F**k you @donjazzy and anybody with you on this. Let’s play ball! #F**kDonJazzy,” he added in a mixture of English and Pidgin.
