Demi Lovato, American singer, has revealed that she suffered three strokes and a heart attack after a near-fatal drug overdose in 2018.
The ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ crooner brought the revelation to light on Wednesday in the trailer of a forthcoming documentary titled ‘Dancing With The Devil.’
In 2018, the 28-year-old music star was taken to the hospital after she was found unconscious at her home in Los Angeles, having overdosed on a reported mix of opioids and fentanyl.
In that same year, Lovato put out the single ‘Sober’ wherein she revealed she had been sober for six years after treatment for alcohol and drug addictions.
But in the trailer of the documentary series wherein she chronicled her near-death experience, Lovato recounted how doctors battled to save her life.
“For the past couple of years, I’ve heard a lot of stories about my life and what people think has happened. I wanted to set the record straight and reveal it all for my fans,” the singer said.
“I had three strokes. I had a heart attack. My doctors said that I had five to 10 more minutes.”
The much-awaited documentary will premiere on YouTube on March 23.

Lovato began her acting career by appearing on the children’s television series ‘Barney and Friends’ from 2002–2004.
She rose to limelight for her role as Mitchie Torres in ‘Camp Rock’ (2008), the Disney Channel musical television film, and ‘Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam’ (2010), its sequel.
Lovato released ‘Don’t Forget’, her pop-rock debut album, in 2008, after signing to Hollywood Records.
The actress had also revealed that she suffered from bipolar disorder, anorexia nervous, self harm, and being bullied before she went into rehab at the age of 18.
She has starred in several movies and won various awards over the years.
