Wizkid, multiple-award winning singer, and Lauretta Onochie, special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, have engaged in a heated war of words on Twitter.
It all started on Sunday after the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner lambasted Buhari for wishing Donald Trump a “quick recovery from COVID-19” amid the security tension in Nigeria.
Wizkid had taken to his Twitter page to vent his annoyance at the president, describing him as an “old man” who should be paying attention to issues in the country rather than in the United States.
Donald trump is not your business!
Old man! Police/Sarz still killing
Nigerian youth on a daily! Do something!
Nothing concern u for America!
Face your country !! https://t.co/thxmoYb7VEAdvertisement— Wizkid (@wizkidayo) October 4, 2020
He was speaking on the back of renewed protests against the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) after a video showing a man allegedly gunned down in Delta by operatives of the police unit went viral.
Reacting on Tuesday night, Onochie described the ‘Fever’ crooner as a “dumbkid”, who exhibited crass ignorance and childishness in the way he addressed the president.
“Its not disrespectful to call anyone old. Its the way and manner Ayo Balogun addressed the President that leaves a sour taste in the mouth. He exhibited crass ignorance, insensitivity and childishness. But hey, he’s a #DumbkidNotWhizKid When he grows up, he might learn respect,” she said.

In a swift reply, Wizkid slammed Onochie for making such utterance about age, saying she should be “ashamed of herself.”
The singer also wondered why the media aide would resort into name-calling when he was only demanding for a better governance in his country.
lol a 77 year old man is not young ma.. You are a woman and a mother and kids are getting killed by police/sars and this is all you have to say? shame on you!!! shame on you!! I am a father and age has nothing to do with demanding for a better governance in my country!! https://t.co/AtIFV7ETny

Due to the public outcry, Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), had banned SARS from undertaking routine patrols and search duties.
Celebrities also called for protest using the ‘EndSARS’ hashtag, with Runtown volunteering to lead a march against police brutality at the Lekki toll gate on October 8.

Somethings are just too uncalled for.
In cases like this, silent has always been the best remedy
Did I hear you say “silent”
If any member of your family was killed in such a way, will you keep silent😭 ?
Shame on you too!!
Whiz shud ignore the rotten lady.
The trouble with Nigeria is squarely problem of leadership.

The lady is just a fellow politician who have her children abroad then. Humilate others within.
Of all the truth Wizkid said all she could hold on was the “Old Man” comment. But he said the right thing, Nigerian youths are been sent to their early grave all because of this SARS of a thing. SHAME on her
