Ayinde Wasiu, Nigerian Fuji star better known as K1 De Ultimate or Kwam 1, says ‘Fuji the Sound’, his much-awaited extended play (EP), will be released on August 21.
The ace musician, who was named the Mayegun of Yoruba Land earlier this year, took to his social media page to break the news to his numerous followers.
“#FujithesoundEp will drop on August 21 #Anticipate #k1deultimate #Awade,” he wrote on Instagram.
The EP, which is said to comprise of six tracks, will feature other prominent music figures including Teni and Toby Grey.
The announcement comes days after the music Fuji maestro released ‘Awade‘, the first single off the EP.
With strings of awards and honorary mentions, the 63-year-old singer has continued to pull the strings in the country’s indigenous music landscape since he rose to prominence in the 1980s.
He is renowned for popularising a brand of music genre dubbed Talazo Fuji, which is based on the work of Ayinde Barrister, a late Nigerian legendary singer and pioneer of Fuji in the country.
Wasiu made the headlines in April after rumours swirled across social media platforms that he had extramarital affair with Olori Ajoke, alaafin of Oyo’s youngest wife.
The singer, however, dismissed the allegations while threatening a lawsuit against those peddling such rumours.
