Melvin Ejiofor, Nigerian rapper better known as Illbliss, has come through with ‘Country’, a song off ‘illy Chapo X’, his forthcoming album.
The gifted rapper took to his social media page to announce the release of the new single to his numerous fans.
IllBliss noted that he recorded the song while in isolation with the aid of his phone and consequently sent to those who worked on it.
“Country! Link in bio Social commentary! captures Nigeria in two vivid verses! Produced by @toye.aru, mixed, mastered and salvaged by Smile PRO Studios. I recorded this song with voice notes on my phone while in isolation,” he wrote on Instagram.

“I don’t have a home studio so I had to devise another Method! After recording I sent the acapellas to the engineer who did all the work!!!”
The less than four-minute song sees the rapper expressing his dissatisfaction with several socio-economic problems, including corruption that have stifled Nigeria’s development since her independence.
He noted that it is unfortunate that Nigerians have continued to “struggle” in their own country, with their leaders failing to provide the needed leadership essential for meaningful change to take root in the country.
“Are we really a country or a see of greedy people? We so divided, the east and the west never see eye-to-eye, the north holding unto power. No love, no trust, all I really is lust,” he was heard saying in one of the verses of the song.
