A video of some officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps of Nigeria (FRSC) aggressively confronting a motorist for driving off with a police officer on the car bonnet has surfaced online and gone viral.

In the undated video, the lady in a red car can be seen driving along the highway while a police officer is captured on the bonnet holding tightly to the moving vehicle.

The person who appeared to have captured the incident on camera can be heard asking the lady to stop and pull over.

Moments after the lady yields to the call, a patrol truck belonging to the FRSC also pulls over beside the red car while some officials alight from the vehicle.

An official immediately yanks off and throws away the vehicle’s plate number in a furious manner while the lady, who was wearing a protective mask, also alights from her car.

She explains that she was asked to wind her car window down by the officials but she refused because they were not wearing protective masks.

She said they threatened to deflate her tyres, hence the reason why she drove off without permission.

One of the FRSC officers can be seen shouting “God punish you” amid her explanation and even tries to hit her but is restrained by the camera man.

On Wednesday, the FRSC issued a statement stating that it has initiated immediate sanctions on all the officers involved in the video.
