Wizkid has been the one for surprises in recent times as his strides have not only amassed him a deluge of ever-loyal fans but also a hoard of prestigious awards, nominations, and collaborative deals with both indigenous and foreign artistes.
The singer, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, had proceeded with new releases at a time when fans were hardly expecting him to put out new content on account of his long-awaited ‘Made in Lagos’ album he had promised would be phenomenal.
He recently dominated the nominees list for the 2019 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) alongside Burna Boy and became the first African artiste to hit 8 million listeners on Spotify, a digital streaming platform that gives access to millions of songs worldwide.
Wizkid would be headlining this year’s BBC Radio 1Xtra Live music event scheduled to hold on October 5 at Arena Birmingham and would also perform alongside French Montana, Ms Banks, Aitch, DaniLeigh, Miraa May and other renowned artistes.
