Kanye West, American rapper and record producer, has come under some stick on social media over the delay in the release of  ‘Jesus is King’, his upcoming album.

The 42-year-old songwriter and business mogul had earlier told fans to expect the highly anticipated album on September 27.

He has, however, left them disappointed following his failure to drop his latest offering on its scheduled release date.

West’s website has also failed to issue any update about the album, with its front page still advertising its apparent tracklisting and Friday as the release date.

This will not be the first time the talented rapper will be failing to release an album on its scheduled date.

Shortly after ‘Ye’, his previous album was released in June 2018, West had announced he would drop a second album that September. That album, titled ‘Yandhi’, was initially postponed until November and then to an unspecified date in 2019.

It is also not clear if ‘Jesus is King’ is a new name for ‘Yandhi’ or if the two albums are entirely separate works.

But what is clear is that the delay of the new album has not gone down well with some fans and they have taken to social media platforms, especially Twitter, to express their differing opinions.

@kanyewest would make a horrible president #JESUSISKING” a Twitter user said.

“When @kanyewest said he was gonna drop that damn album, you should have realized from his track record that it wasn’t f**king dropping when he said. He is not the Ye of old. He is troubled. He is off. Don’t expect too much from homie. Keep your sanity,” another user said.

Here is what some fans had to say:
